6 Market Events to Fall in Love With

 

The fall season is fully upon us and we are thrilled to partner with the Farmers’ Markets of Nova Scotia Cooperative to bring you five #EverydayLocal market events! These special events will help you fall in love with one of our favourite seasons and carry you from Fall colours to Winter Wonderland!

 

1.) October 3, 2018 – Market Fare Dinner @ Truro Farmers’ Market: Come and enjoy a market and community dinner with fresh, local, seasonal ingredients prepared by local chefs, restaurants and market vendors. Tickets are $15 per person which includes a seasonal salad, fresh baked bread and your meal choices ($10 for students with valid student ID). Vendors include Bistro22, Supper by Silvia, Waffles On My Mind, DIV South Indian Cuisine and more! 

 

2.) October 10-17, 2018 – Harvest Hoopla @ Wolfville Farmers’ Market: Get into the season with a full week of events including: a Celtic Oktoberfest on October 10th with a market supper mash-up of celtic music, local craft beer and cider, and Oktoberfest food; Pumpkin Palooza on October 13th with pumpkin décor, pumpkin inspired food and a sculpting contest; and harvest decorations and a special WFM2Go promo available all week. 

 

3.) October 28, 2018 - Grand Hooley @ St. Joseph's Lakeside Community Centre: Gather with friends and family for the first Grand Hooley hosted by the Antigonish Farmers' Market. Celebrate and enjoy this year's harvest with a 5-course meal prepared by "The Kilted Chef", Alain Bosse. Tickets are $100 each and in support of the Antigonish Farmers' Market Agriculture Centre. 

 

4.) November 17, 2018 – The Table @ Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market: Join the Mi’kmaw Friendship Centre and the Seaport Farmers’ Market for a cultural journey at The Table: A traditional Mi’Kmaw Feast & Fundraiser. Experience a special sit-down dinner of traditional Mi’kmaw cuisine and enjoy traditional dance, silent auction and four high-end Mi’Kmaw artisans. Tickets are $125 each and in support of the Mi’Kmaw Friendship Centre’s Christmas Cheer program. 

 

5.) December 1, 2018 – Opening Day @ Cape Breton Farmers’ Market: Check out Cape Breton’s newly renovated farmers’ market location on the Esplanade in Sydney! Opening Day will feature lots of great vendors, live music and local chef demos in their brand-new market kitchen cooking up the season using local ingredients available now.  

 

6.) December 1, 2018 – Winter Wonderland Gala @ New Glasgow Farmers’ Market: Head to the New Glasgow Farmers’ Market for their first ever Winter Wonderland Gala! The market will be transformed into an elegant wonderland and it’s a formal affair – so wear a gown or dapper outfit! Enjoy a delicious 3 course farm to table meal by Pantry Kitchen Catering accompanied with live swing and blues music to dance the night away. (Tickets go on sale on November 1st.)
