    Ingredients
    3-4 cucumbers 3-4
    1 onion, peeled & chopped 1
    salt
    1 cup sour cream 250 mL
    1 Tbsp white vinegar 15 mL
    3 Tbsp granulated sugar 45 mL
    freshly ground pepper
    Method
    1. Peel and thinly slice cucumbers. In a large bowl combine cucumbers and onion slices in alternating layers, starting with cucumbers. Sprinkle each layer with salt. Place a weighted plate on top of the vegetables and press for several hours.
    2. Prepare dressing by combining sour cream, vinegar and sugar, blending until smooth, and then refrigerate.
    3. Drain vegetables well (rinse with cold water, if desired to remove excess salt, then drain). Combine sour cream mixture with vegetables, stirring to coat well. Grind some pepper over top just before serving.
